We better check our insurance policies again Let's not forget the other white (non original colour), converted to RHD and sporto convert that was listed at 190k! This would appear to be 'cheap' in comparison! Madness. ByronBayChris

D-banger Posted 16June, 2015 Report Share Posted 16June, 2015 I thinks it is like the wave effect in the property market, where people get priced out of a desirable suburb, start buying in the next suburb which then increases the price in that next suburb, and so on and so on. The same thing is happening in the P car market. The wave effect is pushing the prices of certain cars out of reach of many, who then start looking at the next best car. Worse then buying a house there are certain cars that don't even come onto the market. When was the last time a 901 S came onto the market? SM911 Posted 16June, 2015 Report Share Posted 16June, 2015 The wave effect is pushing the prices of certain cars out of reach of many, who then start looking at the next best car. So more people will start buying 928s, 968s, 944s and (gulp) 924s then? Rob
tazzieman Posted 16June, 2015 Report Share Posted 16June, 2015 So more people will start buying 928s, 968s, 944s and (gulp) 924s then? Depends whether they want an old Porsche, or an old 911. Otherwise , possibly no. The water pumpers are a totally different flavour. But I can see someone going from a 924 to a 944 to a 968 and maybe a 928 once they've learnt to roll a cigar. bear924 Posted 17June, 2015 Report Share Posted 17June, 2015 As the owner of a '81 911 and '81 924T, I would suggest you actually need to be more of an enthusiast to own the 924. 911 parts and information are a dime a dozen, the cars are worth something so it's actually worth spending money on them. 924 parts are increasingly difficult to source and specialist knowledge less available. What I have found, is that people who aren't into cars want to talk to me about the 911, people who are into cars want to talk to me about the 924. I'd certainly put money on seeing a 911 on the road before seeing a 924 these days. Peter M, DJM, 9fan and 1 other
