smit2100 Posted 20April, 2016 Report Share Posted 20April, 2016 yeah but TurboPersonally I think there is nothing wrong with wrong-engined cars, or cars that need some fixing, as long as the price matches said condition. It's when you get rusty non matching cars priced as premium original low mileage examples.Well, I trust the example in the link below gets your nod of approval. Note photo #5 gives a nice twist to the niceties in life, Eg Anyone for a Porsche and scotch / whiskey from the top shelf.http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/388776-996tt-powered-speed-yellow-964-3-6t-rwb-donjulio.html

TwoHeadsTas Posted 20April, 2016 Report Share Posted 20April, 2016 This is the car sold at Tullochs Auctions, in Launceston today. As indicated before, I would consider car very ratty, although panels appear to be mostly straight, the RH front guard has been repainted and the paint is flaking off on top of the guard. Those in the know reckon fuel tank probably needs replacing, with possible major work requird on Sporto, although, as others have mentioned, this may only be a vacuum hose issue. There were a number of interstate bidders, including a guy from Melbourne who has another 3 or 4 Ps in his garage, and just wanted this one because. He left empty handed as the final bidding was between 2 phone bidders. So, $39k + 15% buyers premium makes this car a final buy price of $44850. I dropped out at about $18k.......... Tried to add more photos, won;t let me ? Peter poli84

Adrenalin62 Posted 20April, 2016 Report Share Posted 20April, 2016 Following the tassie sporto auction, makes me wonder what price to put on a '78 targa 5spd 3.0. Rebuilt top end, new clutch, revalved shocks, good body, could do with new carpet and reupholstered drivers seat!

I can understand why as PCM quoted me $270 for a replacement badge!

Not many - the original ones have been butchered or now live in collections or the barns of ageing enthusiasts I'll give the guy the asking price (minus what it would take for getting it back to proper ) , and a small fine for past atrocities.
