Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

yeah but Turbo

Personally I think there is nothing wrong with wrong-engined cars, or cars that need some fixing, as long as the price matches said condition.  It's when you get rusty non matching cars priced as premium original low mileage examples.

Well, I trust the example in the link below gets your nod of approval. Note photo #5 gives a nice twist to the niceties in life,  Eg Anyone for a Porsche and scotch / whiskey from the top shelf.

This is the car sold at Tullochs Auctions, in Launceston today.  As indicated before, I would consider car very ratty, although panels appear to be mostly straight, the RH front guard has been repainted and the paint is flaking off on top of the guard.  Those in the know reckon fuel tank probably needs replacing, with possible major work requird on Sporto, although, as others have mentioned, this may only be a vacuum hose issue.  There were a number of interstate bidders, including a guy from Melbourne who has another 3 or 4 Ps in his garage, and just wanted this one because.  He left empty handed as the final bidding was between 2 phone bidders.

So, $39k + 15% buyers premium makes this car a final buy price of $44850.  I dropped out at about $18k..........

Tried to add more photos, won;t let me ?

Peter

I'm guessing it's been pulled off at some point (for paint?) and someone has attempted to re-stick, not very successfully. I can understand why as PCM quoted me $270 for a replacement badge!

This one's back

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-Carrera-1976/SSE-AD-3986351/?Cr=3

It would be a fun car. Ditch the wing and get some Fuchs and enjoy.

Or would you prefer this one?

Then of course, there's this one:

Which is the pick of the bunch?

I'd say the 964 Leichtbau rep...

Auctions are so very vulgar . My methods are far more stealthy,  yet gentlemanly.

Cocks , Auctions , Gentleman -- had to go get my glasses …...

I know the market and this thread has had some turns got rather vulgar in exchange for its bull outlook

I have to agree Taz , Men with Fat Wallets actually quite annoying

Talking Vulgar .. did I miss a discussion on this , who could do that to a T

http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Porsche-911-1971/OAG-AD-12346954/?Cr=24

and tell me … why such a price hike between these T's around and an 911S??  Isnt the S a much better drive ?

From the ad , re the Conda greenness etc

Ask yourself - how many of those do you see around town?

Not many - the original ones have been butchered or now live in collections or the barns of ageing enthusiasts

I'll give the guy the asking price (minus what it would take for getting it back to proper ) , and a small fine for past atrocities. What's that , around 40k? Here's the suitcase...

I was all in until nakai-San turned up with his air tools and cut it to pieces.

ps Don Julio is tequila not scotch, disgusting crap it is.  Slide me over a single malt any day

yes, car looks good and nobody cares about import vs not anymore.  Can always reconvert if maximising value is your thing, otherwise drive and enjoy.
