ByronBayChris Posted 26July, 2013 Report Share Posted 26July, 2013 After getting my p-car back from Louie and having driven my other cars for the last 4 weeks (which all have parking sensors etc) I managed to reverse it into a pole Luckily nothing that won't buff out. FlatSix Posted 26July, 2013 Report Share Posted 26July, 2013 Sorry to hear Chris, it's amazing how dependent on technology we can become so quickly. I almost drained the battery on the 911 the first night because I forgot I had to turn the headlights off myself!

Yeah, I've nearly done that on quite a few occasions. Did you have it serviced at Motion Automotive in Sth Melb ?
ByronBayChris Posted 26July, 2013 Report Share Posted 26July, 2013 Car was at Motion Automotive, and it is now running better than ever. Very happy with Louie and his work. Down to earth guy who explains everything he has done.

Down to earth guy who explains everything he has done. Top fellow and real gentleman, he worked on my first P car in the 90's including gearbox rebuild. Top work and great service. l haven't been to see him for quite a while, does he have loan/courtesy cars ?
ByronBayChris Posted 26July, 2013 Report Share Posted 26July, 2013 I was going away for a few weeks, so was happy to leave the car. He did not offer a loaner, but he did call me a cab!
Norm Posted 26July, 2013 Report Share Posted 26July, 2013 Well i got my car back from John Rigali and its looking good. Stone chips and back bumper re-sprayed, rear valance replaced and painted and the whole cut and polished. I'll post some photo's soon. Next stop was K Tec where i replaced the Momo wheel and gear knob with originals and a had a POST purchase inspection! Only replaced the oil pressure switch and oil level sender, which i knew weren't working! I've been put onto someone who will clean and shampoo the interior carpets. Hopefully get that done before we move to the south west (Can't wait for the drive down there!)
f3nr15 Posted 26July, 2013 Report Share Posted 26July, 2013 Picked her up from the detailers! Amazing what a difference a good coat of wax makes. On getting home, my neighbour pulled up in the driveway aghast - "Oh my God you've bought a new one!". She took a moment to convince it was the same one that's been sitting here for the last two years withers and FlatSix

Yellowboxsters Posted 30July, 2013 Report Share Posted 30July, 2013 Got busy for a couple of hours and managed to get this done (after a bit of a faff with adjusting and drilling etc). Not sure if I should leave it carbon black or painted speed yellow. Just thinking of what kinda theme/direction I'm leaning towards.....Hmmmmm
cyberpunky Posted 31July, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 31July, 2013 IMO it would be a crime to paint that sexy Carbon fibre but I have a thing for CF. I once bought some runners because they had exposed carbon fibre in the sole. It has to be real though as I can't stand CF vinyl stuff lol

Yellowboxsters Posted 31July, 2013 Report Share Posted 31July, 2013 Hey cyberpunky, I've been thinking about it a bit more and after perving at the car with the new carbon spoiler on it, I've decided that it looks pretty enough to leave it as is. Gives the car a bit more contrast, detail and more 'excitement'. Next, I'll be sourcing the carbon side air intake surround covers and maybe some carbon mirror housings to spread things out a bit. If only I knew how to use photoshop *sigh*

Am I understanding this right in that you bought a new Porsche today ? more info and pics required ASAP Hey cyberpunky, I've been thinking about it a bit more and after perving at the car with the new carbon spoiler on it, I've decided that it looks pretty enough to leave it as is. If only I knew how to use photoshop *sigh* Yeah I reckon spoiler looks porn as is. I have some carbon fibre door handles I got custom made by a guy in the canary islands and just the subtle touch looks good to me. I also have a CF trim on my dash. I thought about mirrors for mine but like hoe the red looks so won't be doing it but depends on the car. Newer cars like your's it can look great. Post a pic and maybe one of PS guru's here can CF it up for you ? Aussie944S

Yellowboxsters Posted 31July, 2013 Report Share Posted 31July, 2013 Ha, the plates are mine.... Nice, would I be wrong if I assumed you were chinese? If I'm wrong then you must have had some sort of chinese influence in terms of superstition? I'm the same, got the same plates on both cars just one is personalised and the other in euro with the "V" in front By the way, a big congrats on your acquisition. I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely. I remember having a good perve at it when I was last there having a nosy around whilst waiting.
