Russ Posted 18March, 2014 Report Share Posted 18March, 2014 couldn't help it http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/791691-76-911-3-3-turbo-993-suspension-unfinished-project.html but there is a car like this (993 suspension that is) been built in canberra at the moment so rear converted to coil overs and front left as torsion bars? michel Posted 18March, 2014 Report Share Posted 18March, 2014 so rear converted to coil overs and front left as torsion bars? rear in the yelow pelican car is multi link The canberra car has the entire rear end of a 993 suspension fitted to a custom multi tube frame - the front will be 935 using rebel racing gear. Not entirely sure why they didnt opt for 993 front end ? There is a thread on pelican about the canberra car under the paint body work section

Do we know where it's led comes from, salt land or Asia or US. While not concours he appears to have gone further than a simple cosmetic makeover. Has anyone viewed? ByronBayChris Posted 18March, 2014 Report Share Posted 18March, 2014 I'm perplexed over these tributes. Car cost him up to $100k but it has little originality left in it. For future value, it surely woukd remain around the 45 area (if even that) while original (yet not as interesting) examples should rise. Russ Posted 19March, 2014 Report Share Posted 19March, 2014 they're right way up for me.. it's done so few km's what's the worst that could happen? Ring a Porsche dealer with the VIN and I bet there is some service history somewhere. for $30k it'd be worth a punt if you were doing the work yourself I'd reckon

Shame it isn't in Aus as the hassle of importing then engineering to local standards makes it too much of a PITA.

Mike D'Silva Posted 20March, 2014 Report Share Posted 20March, 2014 And it is a manual..but 44.5 seems.high still with the known issues and the unknown ones too apparently it has oil leaks, sometimes nearly stalls, rear spoiler doesnt work, bit of a hole in the service history, aircon not working, unreg, no idea of accident history etc... my understanding is these 1990 cars were the ones that developed leaks between the heads and the cylinders? The owner is firm on price too... oh well... next!
Russ Posted 20March, 2014 Report Share Posted 20March, 2014 I think the undertrays didn't help with cooling and caused the barrels to separate from the case wonder if if he'd move after a PPI
Cal Posted 20March, 2014 Report Share Posted 20March, 2014 Is there any such thing as an aircooled 356 or 911 motor that doesn't at very least "weep" a little oil at the crank case?
