Still need more fuel at 5,500RPM+ but it's perfect below that. Calling it a day and only revving it to 5,500 netted us 340RWHP on the one 3rd gear pull we did. We spent most of the night in 4th working on the AFR's rather then outright power.

fantastic, 50hp jump? and still more in it once the fuel is sorted.

i am taking notes. haha

Yep. We started at 289rwhp@6500rpm and are now at 339rwhp@5500rpm. No point revving it any harder as it's just not getting enough fuel to make anymore power. So I’m at a crossroads. I can get a new fuel head with say 20% more flow. But it’s not just the fuel head that’s the limiting factor. The other is the ignition system. While I could put a MSD6AL on the car I’m not the biggest fan of MSD stuff and am suspect of the actual spark increase it will provide.

I could just say thanks 340RWHP makes such a light car reasonably fast but, well, you guys know me…

So after typing all that I think this is what I’ll do. Leave it as is and enjoy the car over summer after that I’ll think about a plan for EFI. I enjoy playing with the CIS as it’s a bit of a black art but I know in the end it’s always a tipping adjustment.

You take a bit from here put it over there and then you’ve lost a bit from over there and need another bit to fill the hole you made. Another way of thinking about it is you have a litre of petrol in a jug with 3 glasses all the same size. One glass is you cold start up enrichment. Another is your warm pressure enrichment and the last is the full throttle enrichment. To pour the petrol into the glasses you have to tip it though a funnel. As you know if you just dump all the fuel into the funnel it will overfill and you end up slowing it all down. If you trip it too quickly you end up getting some gurgling and splash back. Near to just right it flows freely and then you just have to put the right amount of petrol in each glass.

With EFI it like this. You have 1 ltr of fuel in a jug. You tell a guy you want 235ml’s in the start of the first glass for 30 second then add another 15mls once it’s fired. You then tell him to pour it at 50mls a second in the 2nd glass till it has 300mls in it. Once he has done that you tell him the last glass needs 100mls a second until it has 450mls in it and not to spill a drop.

It’s ok though you know he won’t spill any because it’s all already done. Something like Schrodinger’s fuel system.

Sorry guys I've been flat strap. As I've said before my dad's quite ill and well he isn't going to get better so I've been spending most of my time with him. Lucky for me we both like to sit in the shed and potter around.

Snowy went well, Came 62nd outright so almost exactly midfield. I was beaten in my class by 1.2 seconds and considering I beat the 8.2ltr supercharged Pontiac I think I did ok.

Best run of the day was 24.something at 229.9kph damn that last bit. Next year I'll be back with EFI and some other tricks so I'm going to have a damn good go at a class win.

For what it's worth the winning car was a 1000+hp R35 GTR at 16 something and 326kph.

Couple of photo's.

Also as it turns out the deleted the wastegate pipe cut out in the bumper is the perfect alignment for a tow hook!

Yeah it sits down fairly hard under full load.

Event is the Snowy Mountains 1000. There were 3 or 4 modded GT2's there this year. I can't tell the times or speeds they ran but it's on Natsoft if you want a look.

It's a good fun event to do. No sheep stations on the line and more or less everyone chat's to everyone in the pits. Spots are limited to 125 cars with first pref given to people who have run before. After that it's opened up and sells out within a couple of days.
