T-Man Posted 22July, 2014 Report Share Posted 22July, 2014 The only way I would accept a bank cheque as payment is if I went to the bank with the buyer and watched them get it.... too many horror stories of people buying with a fake cheque....I went to the bank with PO and he was happy with that, as I would also be.....Easily fixed.Cash only. Several payments over 3 months. Both parties happy with transactions. Western Union flys under the radar of Russian authorities I think. firstone Posted 22July, 2014 Report Share Posted 22July, 2014 Not quite - for example in the event of a lost or stolen cheque you can simply call the bank and have it stopped. Bank cheques still take 3 days to clear (like any other cheque). Part of the reason for this is to confirm it hasn't been stopped. Your friendly bank employee, JV911I understand your point, IF it it is in fact lost/stolen. It then takes 3 days to clear back to your account. However..... If a cheque is drawn in the name of the seller. You buy the car, give the cheque to seller. Then contact the bank to stop that cheque saying it is lost/stolen and the seller presents it within the 3 days he will get paid....
