tazzieman Posted 2September, 2014 Report Share Posted 2September, 2014 Note the front ride height. Even with his weight and clambering it doesn't sink.( Well not for a minute or so .) That is why you never lift the car and align it. It takes up to 100km driving to settle the front suspension fully. The film crew must have used a crane. f3nr15 Posted 2September, 2014 Report Share Posted 2September, 2014 The 1989 Carrera 4, being the first of the breed, had the rear spoiler switch in the engine bay! They moved it to the centre console for MY90. Peter M and poli84

JV911 Posted 3September, 2014 Report Share Posted 3September, 2014 Have a look at Autohaus Hamiltons cars for sale, the black 993 S they have was originally delivered as a tip and has been converted to a 6 speed, according to the ad it pretty straightforward in the 993 at least.http://autohaushamilton.com.au/porsche-sales/porsches-for-sale Sold within a day or two. I had a look at it when I was there on Monday - very nice

clutch-monkey Posted 3September, 2014 Report Share Posted 3September, 2014 agreed. look at the size of those spacers! engine looks indistinguishable from a 964 turbo engine.. especially with the intercooler

Flatout Posted 4September, 2014 Report Share Posted 4September, 2014 I didn't think you could put an engine in a car that's older than the car? Thought it had to be same age or newer? That's the rule in NSW anyway...
Russ Posted 4September, 2014 Report Share Posted 4September, 2014 there's nothing to say it's not a 964 Turbo 3.3 engine, they still have 930 engine numbers and that way the engine is the same age as the body
J.J. Posted 5September, 2014 Report Share Posted 5September, 2014 but the chassis is not an 87, so the VIN would be from 89 up, just doesn't make any sense at all to me..
LeeM Posted 5September, 2014 Report Share Posted 5September, 2014 I picked up some cheap Cookies to move my car around when my original wheels are being painted, and the seller had a couple of 944's he's selling. One is a total track hack from Canada with no compliance and LHD ready for hillclimbs or track days. The car Is very light apparently with all the interior stripped out, half the dash cut away etc etc. No cage though. Stock motor with belts recently replaced. I love it, as its a bit of a pig, but would be perfect for anyone wanting a toy for the weekend. He wants around $6500 for it, or $10k with a tandem trailer fitted with disc brakes. The other one he has is Peter Fitzgeralds championship winning car thats currently being prepped for sale for around $30k. Not knowing what has been done to it, whether its worth that kinda coin is up to interested people to sort out. I want the cheapy, but nowhere to store it and I have to finish my car first kinda kills that idea!. Thought I'd tell you guys about it anyway. I have his number if anyone is keen Pics

GC9911 Posted 5September, 2014 Report Share Posted 5September, 2014 He's in the box seat given the waiting list, such a unique position for a second hand vehicle. Didn't he drive all the versions first? 700ks is not much of a test drive though, IMHO the diesel is the pick given the money. Ah well each to his own.
