Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

What's the betting it's on the market for $100k more by the end of the week?

Deposit taken subject to inspection

Car is out of town so a few days till its final

Is $190k actually cheap? Lots of cash in anyone's reckoning.

Considering what some are asking fro wide bodied non turbo cars, I think this represents good value. You could buy a '86 3.2  wide body for the advertised price of $170k, or pay $20k more for this turbo. Yes, they look the same, but which would you rather own. Of course, this suggests that people can actually get the silly mopey they are asking just because a car has wider fenders...

Whilst some have being distracted by the recent sideshow,  someone's being a busy lad ...?

Though good to see the emphasis albeit for a bit on the 'ownership and enthusiasm'...

Deposit paid by you?

haha no.

I have to say, when I saw it last night when it went up, I was very tempted to call. But I held off long enough for the decision to be made for me.

There's enough red in my garage - I don't need it in my bank account too.

probably a very good reason ;)

mind you long hoods look good in any colour, even yellow. This thing is still kicking around the neighbouhood. Still cool, yellow and full of holes..

This lives/lived at the Aravina winery in WA. Saw it there in good company last year.

This would make s nice addition to the collection. But it's red too...

Is it worth $100k? Seems a lot of money. I see a couple for sale in the UK at around GBP 40k

I guess that is always debatable? But one things for sure, its exclusive, only 75 RHD worldwide.

Agree - Getting my license in the 80s they were Porsches equivalent to a Zakspeed X Pack Escort

Not only rare with 75 made but a great looking car

Thoughts? This has dropped from $120k to $109 has been on for a while. One of a couple of 997 S i am considering on the market against one I know of yet to come up for sale, but not rushing just waiting for the planets to align.

Seems good value to me. Kays are low, and it looks as though it may have either PASM or a sports exhaust button. Cabin pictures a bit too blurry to tell.

On that note, blurry pictures are either the sign of a pants photographer, or in my Porsche experience, they're trying to hide a tired cabin. Plastics in that era 911 / Cayman were not the best. Wedding ring dents, flaking aircon buttons etc.

Car has been recently serviced by an OPC but it doesn't mention the history and whether that's complete (or..."yeah the last owner's posting that onto us"). Definitely worth a closer inspection.

Jonathan,

Have you thought about the price difference between the 997.1's and the 997.2's?  It often seems quite small even though there are some significant advantages in going to the .2's

However getting a manual 997.2 will take some patience compared to the bountiful supply of the faster PDK equipped ones but there was a manual 3.8S with 75,000km for $115k that hung around for a while.  Reasonable mileage PDK ones seem to start at $110k onwards.
