Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

This has to be up there with one of the "highest amount asked for a 964 C4". Looks like a loved example, however, i think the asking price is optimistic.

Oh FFS this is just getting ridiculous! :)

Do the vendors stop to think what can be bought for that kind of coin?  The number is especially scary when the pre-tax earnings to fund such a new toy are taken into consideration...

Looking into my chrystal ball, I foresee a number of price adjustments.

rumor has it that the last red C4 with high kms sold for $85k after sitting on the market for 4 months asking upto $110k after being cunningly flipped ;)

Mind you that was a well documented, much more desirable 1990 car with the correct wing mirrors

Berlin Wall came down

The Walls of Jericho fell with those that blew their trumpets too much

Even the great dynasty - wong or other wise .. the Great Wall China has significantly crumbled … and the Great Wall vehicle ..lets not combine those terms perhaps..

Yes I sense a mere flesh wound to the economy of the Pcar arena and other markets

OFFS -- yes a little of the mark  - Nice new acronym

GYHOYD - Maybe Get Your Hand Of Your Dick is another..

You can use them in succesion  OFFS  GYHOYD   -

Worlds gone mad you know ...

I can here Tom processing now OFFS - wheres my outlaw

Is anyone near Mordialloc to go and look at it for me??? I'm in Bali at the moment so a bit far :/

I'm in Mordy. Could kick the tyres for you.

I don't know enough about 928's to really know what i'm looking for and I wouldn't go by their description! I'll PM you my experience with them...

Here is the UK advertisement...for what (little, apparently!) the description may be worth...

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C743036

The dealer isn't there any more!  http://40bernardstreet.com/

That's not a dealership plate, it's a plant number plate from the business. Robert Mcalpine's is a UK construction company and 40 Bernard Street used to be the headquarters, so that car must've been one of the exec's vehicles back in the day (I spent 20 years in the UK construction industry, know McAlpine's well)

I would seriously question those miles and ask for proof! The speedo has been changed to a km one and one of the previous owners had no idea how many original km/ miles  it had done and had no history. Tread carefully!

Just goes to show that collective knowledge is king!  Thanks for that - it's funny, the name rang a bell with me and I had just assumed it was a deep recollection from an article in one of those great British classic car magazines about a dealer having sold a famous car...

And question the "Runs well" statement from these guys by using the "By What Method" clarification.

They are not a car dealer but a car wrecker after all and might be great for buying parts, but consider any cars they sell as a collection of parts sold in bulk as a project car.

If it starts, runs and drives it's a bonus.

I just want to say a massive thankyou to @TrevMcRev and @ANF for taking the time out of their day to send me messages of advice.

This is the reason these forums are so good, having genuine people who are happy to give their advice without question.

I'm really glad to be a paid member of PFA, money very well spent!

Cheers guys B)

Some of the other jucy ones

GT3 2007….Gone..CS Silver one …To a good home that I know at a great price….had to pass on that gem as i couldn't justify parking that one outside a rental property along with the 5 other cars ;)

Few more out there …RS is still available … hopefully the Mrs will accept a caravan rather than a house and I can grab it :) but might need a scraper to get the rubber and tar of the underside.

Why hasnt the 996 GT3 been snatched from Mount Martha

Who grabbed the 356A coupe?? Someone here ..deposited..off carsales??

PS The mint Peugeot 205 GTI got whipped away …low kms ..now theres an investment

silver 7.1 with PCCB was a gem... Can't believe it took so long to sell!

? But that's the climate right now...

I can't wait for the day you actually get one mr syms! There is still some good deals out there and the mount Martha car is one of them! ?

Trust me on that... I'm not the extrovert 911 guy that most are... Just live in one small GT3 circle! ?

Sitting on the Edge Edgy … personal update for you sir and seeing as a few others are promoting me to splash cash around.  My buddy got the 7.1 after I got it on his radar, happy for him my

The Razor is a bit blunt… well…. Its probably at its value point right now and stalled bidding at 27.1k , with its agendas anything with bodywork needing done in the current car world is a 5-10k agenda these days… we will see..    I could send it to mexico or downtown LA for a makeover..would probably be cheaper.

The 7.2 was nice too Edgy… Im being the king of research….I have tyre kicked , run my fingers across the duco and smelt the leather of a few. The dream is alive and the hunt even still viscerally exciting.

As for other GT3's  Voyerism update my favorite "Opiate" the Grey QLD 991 is long gone… I dreamt of that toy a quick liquidation of my DB5 but it wasnt to be.

Im suprised no one is on the RS as discussed..must be the lack of shine on the underside. Nothing a few plasters wouldnt fix. I so nearly jumped…..

As for Mount Martha.. I want to rack up some Kms guilt free so .. so maybe a low kms car like the 7.1 will best for me, when im ready to move on that.

I must confess I got my look sideways at other things right now.. Aston DBS in rotisserie the GTR in the paint shop. Esky getting front vented brake upgrade. I am watching this thread avidly and Im off to BREXIT land very soon.

Pcars seem a little bit heavy and slugish to speculate on..but still the passion drive of choice..  Without the Wong Dynasty collection being reduced and not modified and with Tom only having two slots on the stacker…and his car holding up the througputs at the docks.. the market throughput seems to be at an all time low.

Have no fear 356 and 911 Longhood hotrod are still things I will jump into for more entertainment as the need to fill the grid on ready for the next build.

No sure I will convert to 4POT or 8POT ownership.. lets see what the MCrev dude comes up ..maybe a bush bashing rally car will inspire me..

Edgy I think a meat raffle and BBQ at your place..might be the most exicting outlook of Pcar activity we could conjur up..  there is the Escort Challenge Border Ranges Kyogle next weekend .. if you really want hear BDA's and Webbers in perfect symphonic harmony… or has movie buffs TOMS CRUISE been scheduled yet….  ?

Shit winters boring ..Michel must have another Mocha Cocklate or Nice rice dream coloured car to keep this thread pumping and you crew entertained.  you gotta admit that car must be a national icon now..unlike the puke pistachio car.

No, no don't listen to him, lies all lies!

(will have to teach you the finer points of "keeping a secret"...) ;)

You know what? Don't listen to what all the others say, I reckon you're a nice bloke

@symsy bought the Razor yet?

Names and addresses please, looks like I need to make some "house calls".... ;)

What do you call this salty caramel  Michel? I know it has an official name but whats the Marketting one

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-1981/SSE-AD-4201217/?Cr=25

I think it is Bamboo biege, i know it's definitely Bamboo, I'm reliably informed only 2 delivered to Aus that year, kinda rare and I thought would have sold for more than that.

Tingy is correct ..... Bamboo Beige.

It was only available in '81 & '82 and also correct that only 2 were delivered here over both years ..... both in 1981 (I have the other one that has been repainted red)

Tingy is also correct in thinking it would be worth more than what he is asking.

Hard to pick the market at the moment .....
