KGB Posted 14February, 2017 Report Share Posted 14February, 2017 Great looking car with a very ambitious asking price (for a dirty UK import!). Isn't that Oz delivered car money? Will the special additions outweigh the market prejudices against imports? I hope it does.Great looking car, but 168xx M I L E S. <<$100k. Claywong Posted 14February, 2017 Report Share Posted 14February, 2017 (edited) Great looking car!I am wondering if it's the same car I looked at here in Qld a couple years ago (or more). It was for sale at Ormeau... I saved the images from the advert... It had just been resprayed by a gold coast hot rod shop, but had some bubbling in the rear quarter... it was listed for $50k... looked really really good apart from the bubbling. And also was an ex UK car.. but he said he bought it from Perth... I believe it is the same car, I have seen this car before on the current owners facebook when he posted it a couple years ago. Without looking into great detail, the car looks great and is owned by a very fastidious fella. Edited 14February, 2017 by Claywong
Mike D'Silva Posted 14February, 2017 Report Share Posted 14February, 2017 I bought the old suspension from the seller at the time..dunno why.. they were the rustiest pieces of shit I had ever seen. Paid next to nothing for them. And promptly threw them in the bin! Dunno what the rest of the car was like underneath.. it was so low at the time, I couldn't get under it. michel
LeeM Posted 14February, 2017 Report Share Posted 14February, 2017 Upper end of the spectrum for an ex-UK C4, looks tidy from what can be seen in the plethora of pics...Damn!

Why hasn't it gone yet?Obviously, being in Albury, it would be hard to get a reputable PPI?What the deal here?CheersVlad

Compared to mine the engine felt a bit flat, feels like the vacuum reservoir is disconnected for the resonance flap.Weird noise around the engine fan, could be belt sensor or bearing.Spiler mechanism is noisy, A/C does not work, sunroof does. Front diff leak, leak between gear box and engine, slight case weep but not bad.Paint is poor, needs a good correction, suspect accident repair on rear drivers side, cracking body filler and rust underneath. Engine mount on drivers side is newer or different to the passenger side.Brakes are good, no leak around the brake pressure pump.Interior is good, tyres are good, has H&R green lowered springs.Has books.Car has not been prepped for sale, what you see is what you get.Dealers are sniffing around and have offered $70K, good seller straight guy and wants it gone.Just too much expensive work at the asking for me. vtsyrlin Posted 16February, 2017 Report Share Posted 16February, 2017 Thanks Fraz.So to get the car sorted properly, possibly looking at 20k plus worth of work?clutch shutter - possibly needs new clutch, diaphragm springs or similar.engine - as you said vacuum and whatever else. Fan belt noise.Oil leaks - heaps of work there. Body work - hate shody panel work - probably take it to bare metal and redo. So 25k to get it back to PFA standard? Sounds like it might not be worth buying? What;s your take on this? Rather spend bit more and get a clean example from the start?
