It might just be me, but it seems like the 964 market is starting to move again.. cars are selling.

Yes, I'd agree, I've received five 964's marked as sold from carsales this month. I think that's more than in the last few months combined. Could of course be cars being removed unsold, but most were priced reasonably and three only went up for sale in the last month or so.

Yeah, which?

I know this one was advertised at $105k originally, then price dropped to $97K. I went and looked at it about a month ago. Very clean car inside and out and drove well. The owner was a nice bloke and very genuine, although he'd hardly driven it in recent years.

But it was a Japanese import with a RHD conversion and no history prior to 2005. Had 2 stamps in the book and that was all, plus it needed the clutch looked at. If he got close to the asking price, I'd say he's done well.

The grey C4 with BBS LMs and Recaros sold and appeared in this impressive collectors feed. I'm sure some of you on here know this guy, his man cave full of cars used to be on the same street as my office.

@turboT is this your old car rearing its head again by the same shop?

The reason I ask is that I seem to remember your child restraint anchorage covers missing also? But I could be way off.

Yeah i saw that after but the cars look too similar. I'm wondering whether the ad isn't down yet or whether the transaction isn't complete (and the shot was taken on test drive).

is this the ex @SimonN RS?...

Where's SimonN, back in the motherland? I've missed his opinions....

I'm back! Trip to the Motherland plus a very tight deadline (6 weeks work in 2 weeks because of being away) has had me head down. Haven't even seen the Porsche!

The red RS has been correctly identified as the Dutton car that has been around for at least a year, maybe 18 months . It is a left hand drive RS Touring, a car i never have understood. As for the price, they are always difficult to price. If it were a standard RS with those k's, I would say it is a bit over the top and it should be $375-400K. The Touring adds a new dimension. Dealers talk them up as being rare but they never sell quickly, which suggests that are doesn't always equal good. The vast majority of people wanting a 964RS today do not want a watered down version. I have no idea how much it has been on the market for up until now, but clearly it was too much and I suspect at this level, it will sit for a long time.

  • 1 month later...

I know this 964 has a few things against it value wise, converted, cab and tip, but surely a factory wide body is worth more than this?

Ripe for a speedster mod?

cheap compared to $190K for an Aus delivered manual Dutton's version with less km's
