Pork Chops Posted 12March, 2017 Report Share Posted 12March, 2017 Haha, I may have to do it soon as I have more and more people asking for it. I have even had a fan in Mexico go as far as to get my logo as a tattoo with his nickname 'Shampoo' in place of the 'by Jeff. Lil creepy me thinks. But what about those Mexican weather presenters eh? MFX Posted 17March, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 17March, 2017 This week I have been trying to get the door glass into to car. I have had a couple of set backs, but there is at least some more shiny stuff on the car. GUT, k0nz, Rob and 5 others

MFX Posted 17March, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 17March, 2017 Reckon youve polished through the anodizing mate. Rechromed wont give the same finish...Yep. I have just been informed that they are anodised, not chromed. I will have to look into it a bit more to see what I can do to fix it. One option people have brought up is Eastwood sells a diy 'chrome' powder coat. I might have to do a bit more research into that.
Harvs11 Posted 18March, 2017 Report Share Posted 18March, 2017 You'll have to totally strip the anodising before anything will stick to it. Maybe time for professional help on this one. MFX
MFX Posted 18March, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 18March, 2017 You'll have to totally strip the anodising before anything will stick to it. Maybe time for professional help on this one. I have had a bunch of advise now and I think I have a plan. I should be able to strip off the anodising, polish them up, and I used a specific Clear 4 Chrome product back when I was airbrushing, that worked quite well, so that may be the go. MFX Posted 24March, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 24March, 2017 This week I fit the new rubbers to the rear quarter windows and I get into fixing up the trimming on the passenger seat. Timm, Scott930, Philbee and 3 others

LeeM Posted 25March, 2017 Report Share Posted 25March, 2017 Can't believe I did that! Too tip. Put a thick towel on the bodywork PRIOR to any window installations!
Pork Chops Posted 25March, 2017 Report Share Posted 25March, 2017 Ugh, re-works. And even worse, sewing re-works. I don't know how you do it. But good work as always Jeff and can't wait to see the oily boys getting some love Westside. MFX and Philbee
MFX Posted 31March, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 31March, 2017 This week I get the windows to wind up and down smoothly. I also strip off the anodising from the window frames, polish them up and then try out a product to protect them from oxidising. tomo, GUT, Scott930 and 2 others
MFX Posted 7April, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 7April, 2017 This week I struggle with installing the front and rear windows. I get the rear sorted, but I have to have a break from the front as it popped back out a couple of times. I have a plan to get it to pop in the way it needs to which I will try this week end. vl gra Posted 8April, 2017 Report Share Posted 8April, 2017 Jeff, with installing the windows. As you get someone to pull a section of the rubber in with string you need to tap the glass with an open hand and the rubber will then seat properly. Hope that helps. Pork Chops Posted 8April, 2017 Report Share Posted 8April, 2017 Can't wait to see the engine details. Was satisfying seeing those clips come off and the glass go in, albeit the front not so much! Mrs Jeff seems to be settling into her new role new. Looking relaxed and confident. Well done.

Raven Posted 8April, 2017 Report Share Posted 8April, 2017 I remember doing those type or a similar type of windscreen rubbers on an LH Torana I had years ago ........and yes they are a frustrating pain in the ass to get in ,,,,got me stuffed how they did them on the production lines back when the cars were being made .........Was a nightmare job ,,and we had similar issues to you because much of the front scuttle panel had been replaced due to rust and was,nt the exact same shape as the one that was removed so the bottom edges of the screen keep poping out in the corners ........ended up with a windscreen guy doing it in the end ,,still to this day it has me stuffed how he got it to stay in we try,d every thing...
