Triphonic S transmission is quite unexceptional, not a patch on Googlephonic with moon rock needle.
CapnHyaku Posted 29January, 2021 Report Share Posted 29January, 2021 That's assuming you can get genuine moon rock. Mostly it's cheap feldspar from China these days.
DT Posted 29January, 2021 Report Share Posted 29January, 2021 True, Joe Biden’s hoarding all the moon rock in the White House for his audiophile friends.

CapnHyaku Posted 1February, 2021 Report Share Posted 1February, 2021 Any thoughts on these "Millienium Edition" 996.1 examples? Typically it seems sellers are expecting a 50% premium over the regular 996.1's running around. It must have triggered someone - the Midnight Blue/Terracotta has sold (advertised $20k cheaper)

DT Posted 1February, 2021 Report Share Posted 1February, 2021 This looks like good buying now, particularly compared to the above. I’d have to get rid of the wing and the wheels. Whack on a nice set of sport design or 18” turbo twist, it’s a peach. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1999-porsche-911-carrera-996-manual/SSE-AD-7000950?pageSource=details&id=SSE-AD-7000950

Thought it was in the high 40's when I saw it listed 🤔 I was going to have a look last weekend, but don't wish to waste anyones time if I'm not seriously looking and cashed up

The SC will sell fast in the current market, and this would too with the original wing and decent wheels, if you change your mind, might even make a few bucks. Manual 996 is a great thing, especially gearing down into a tight corner and punching those ponies out in second, hell yeah! 6000 k's in 6 years...........I've done 6000 k's in mine in six months .......bloody great fun. Not sure I could live with Savannah beige interior mate...and even though I love black, I swore I'd never own a black car again after the 912! Tip or manual? It would depend on price and the car really. And yes, I know the intoxicating feeling of booting a 996 out of a turn in 2nd gear
