Damn that's uglier than a bulldog chewing a wasp!

Haha bait taken, I knew there’d be defenders on PFA!  Air cooled at any price is good?

No, too rich for my blood for a G series no matter how nice...

Personally nothing against the water cooled cars. Waved the other day to a GT3 and a Boxter and would happily own either! Would especially love a GT4! Swaps? :D

Seems expensive when you don't use it. But I suppose we should consider it like car insurance -  the day you need  it seems like a bargain!  I wish my GT2 was under warranty when it went BANG.  It cost about 30 years worth of warranty.....in that case I was lucky to be saved by market forces.

about $80k  ? did something end up poking thru a new hole ?

Thanks mate, they are a great looking car, almost a bit too pretty for what I am looking to do.

 This one popped up too.

I drove a 996 Turbo the other day, that boost is hard to get out of your mind once experienced, everything else just feels slow. Unfortunately that car needs a major cash injection to get it up to something I would be happy with. Thanks for the tag, keep em coming, still on the hunt.

two snapped rods, the rest bent like bananas.  holes punched through crankcase and metal chewed out everywhere inside. Oil pump destroyed.  Sourced a used motor from a 996TT which cost $15k and Fitzgerald rebuilt that.  With lots of ancillary bits and pieces the bill was around $50k. So $65k all up or thereabouts.  I retain a bent rod as a paper weight on my desk ?

Carbon seats.............cage...............+ red! Tempted myself..............

GT4 is a magical car.  It somehow seems just right.  You NEED one in your life @Fraz (@Hugh - not sure I could say you need but get one anyway ?).

I was wandering around the back streets of Zuffenhausen yesterday peering in windows to the various factories and the marketing offices, looking for any signs of a sneaky GT4 RS prototype lurking.  No cigar.....

Wow that is an expensive fix.  Warranty on mine now extended 2 more years, by then I should be ready for a new one.

About to sell my wife's Mazda 2 so there will be another $13500 in the new car savings account.  Funny isn't it that I can sell a 3 year old Mazda 2 auto with 27000 klm on it for $13500 with 1 year warranty remaining and to fix a motor in a GT2 was an extra $50K.  Big boys toys certainly are expensive.

Thanks for the link, sounds like results were disappointing for the seller... I'm guessing from the article that the 959, Miura etc all went unsold.

Wow potential boxrod for $9k, if only it was a manual and didn’t have a tan interior ?

Did someone say "BoxRod" just did 6 laps at Sand Down as a passenger with Trev.  Pretty bloody impressive car and steering I must say. When an Audi R8 can't shake you in the corners, in fact we closed the gap they made on the straights. Trev is onto something here, with minimal mods set of decent rubber and KW suspension, that BoxRod has to be the best bang for buck car I have ever experienced, defiantly merit in @TrevMcRev thinking and yes I was just looking at Boxster's.
