SS 3 Posted 29April, 2020 Report Share Posted 29April, 2020 1 hour ago, luzzo said: wilson beat you Scott 😂 😂 so I see Given it hasn't sold in 24hours id say there is more downward pricing pressure to come. Over the last 20 years or so I have always pegged Aus pricing against the UK; using my complex financial instrument (not really) the numbers at present are showing the 991.2's being marketed in the following range 245-290k. And a .2 RS is now minimum $100k leap over non RS, does that reflect the difference when new? At the price difference you've quote I'd take the .2 GT3. If the pricing was within 5-10k I'd go with the better spec'd car to suit my preferences. DJM
sleazius Posted 30April, 2020 Report Share Posted 30April, 2020 991.1 RS vs 991.2 GT3 at the same price? 991.2 GT3 is (was) my choice. 991.1 RS was cheaper than what I paid for the 991.2 GT3 at the time and I have zero regrets. NBTBRV8 Posted 1May, 2020 Report Share Posted 1May, 2020 Following on from a earlier point if you can believe Carsales, it appears that the manual GT3 accounts for 50% of cars. This doesn't seem right given how few manuals come up for sale. https://www.carsales.com.au/editorial/details/manual-porsche-911-carrera-ruled-out-for-australia-124032/
sleazius Posted 2May, 2020 Report Share Posted 2May, 2020 Anecdotally, when I was last in for a service I asked the agent how many manuals they see. The response was 'not many, maybe one in 6 or 7'. More anecdotes, my SA at the time I ordered mine said it was just under 30% of the cars they were holding deposits for were manual. You've got to take it with a grain of salt though as deposits are fully refundable.
NBTBRV8 Posted 2May, 2020 Report Share Posted 2May, 2020 My prediction is that like the lesser models, as the cars get older the manuals will demand the premium. It is normally the case the used market buyer has different preferences to the new car buyer. DJM
NBTBRV8 Posted 2May, 2020 Report Share Posted 2May, 2020 It is too dear in this market being a UK import.
