Another question is how much does it cost to keep/extend the warranty each year on this model, 1.5-2k? Also how much on average should one put aside for servicing at Porsche each year, also about 1.5-2k?

I know sometimes the car may require pads or rotors (will try to stay away from PCCB due to cost and I actually like the look of the red calipers), spark plugs etc. What would be the average per year over 5-10 years only doing say 5k kms a year?

I know this is kind of like how long is a piece of sting but perhaps you could all humor me 😁

I'm probably capable of doing it myself or even having it done through another Porsche specialist workshop but I think this would probably negatively affect the value of the vehicle when it is sold one day? and probably void the warranty?

How about when it comes time to replace the tyres, do you guys generally get them through Porsche given the car has a center lock wheel nut and might be a pain to get them elsewhere?

Sorry for all the questions, I can get the money together to buy the car but the ongoing costs are a bit unknown to me and there will be a limit where I may have to decide I'm simply too poor to own the car year on year over the decade or so I'd like to own it.

1) looks like you are sorted with this.

2) Do you plan on tracking?  PCCB are excellent for road driving, I'd only avoid if you planned on the car doing more track km than road km.  Driven on the road you'd get about 30,000km out of a set of rotors/pads, maybe more depending upon your driving style.  Plugs are done on a time/km basis.

3)If you want to have the Porsche extended warrantly then only a OPC can do the service work.  If you want to save some money, buy the parts from the likes of sonnenporscheoemparts.com and supply them with the car when it goes in for a service.  I also buy my own Mobil 1 oil from https://www.ebay.com.au/str/gllubricants?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=705-53470-19255-0&campid=5336728181&customid=&toolid=10001 and supply that too.  It is much cheaper than the OPC.

4) I bought a Snap on 3/4" rachet and handle the same as this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Snap-On-Tools-Huge-3-4-Dr-Ratchet-Head-L872-And-Handle-L872RM-Heavy-Duty-40/193921296884?epid=1222698172&hash=item2d269c29f4:g:DSQAAOSwDSBgOTWj

I also bought a CAT tools 3/4" torque wrench, here is the Snap On equivalent: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/goodna/hand-tools/snap-on-3-4-inch-drive-torque-wrench-443547/1267200136

But you can buy different brands, search Gumtree, here is another good one: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bassendean/mechanics-garages/tengtools-torque-wrench/1269765278

If you buy a used torque wrench, get its callibration checked so you know its true accuracy, you'll need to google in your local area.

Watch the few Youtube videos like this

Buy some Castol Optimoly grease part number 00004330508 from your dealer as you will need to regrease the nuts everytime you remove them or at least annually.  There is a special precedure for this which is the same as the 997, see the attached.  (Tip buy mechanics gloves for the regrease, the Optimoly stick to everything and is super hard to clean off).

Also buy yourself one of these, they are really handy and a 100% must if you have PCCB.

After this you are good to go.

Absolutely stunning DJM, that colour of wheel is a great choice with the Carmine Red!

How about some interior pics when you get time too

I am conscious of thread drift.....so just 1 interior shot.  I actually like the red trim in the flesh, something different.

I don't know why it has not sold.  Seems a good price.  Porsche dealer too, so under warranty.

Lets not forget these cars were being advertised at dealers for $299 not so long ago. There not scarce or collectable yet.

Probably too early yet to start a 992 GT3 market watch thread, but the pricing gets released here tomorrow.  It will be interesting to see how much of a jump in price and eventually how many 991.2s hit the market in the last quarter of this year.

Based on current trends you could easily assume that Porsche have been inundated with expressions of interest in the 992GT3.

Pricing looks like a 25-28k bump on the 991.2. + for those in Vic the stamp duty bump of 15k or so over other states (great to see level playing fields in Australia how does this occur??)

For those interested Government taxes on a new GT3 look like this( Approx)

LCT                           $75,000

GST                          $28,000

Stamp duty (vic)    $32,000

Total                        $135,000
