That type of sales spiel in the ad really leaves me cold.

You would think that kind of sales pitch would work on a $25k used Hyundai Velostar or Nissan 260Z

Yeah, I get what you are saying, but I sometimes wonder whether cars of this calibre pretty much sell themselves anyway, and the salesperson is relegated to simply being a paper shuffler.

Ps anyone know what it sold for last time?

If it’s same car, someone’s nearly doubled the mileage from its last appearance.

Seems to me that the 996.1 GT3 is becoming the benchmark for the modern classic Porsche, the go to reference between old and new. In some ways as different to the air cooled 911s, as the 356 was to the early 911s. In time, I believe they will continue to be used to compare the 'latest' Porshce with the car that started the legend. In a similar way that long hood 911s are used to explain the evolution to the 993.  With each successive retelling of the 'legend', I believe the 996 GT3 will gain in credibility and collectability.

And if I'm totally wrong... I'll still get a buzz every time I jump into mine regardless.

Yeah its great.. just wondering if someone here has info that the owner won't give up?

Sorry can't help there, I initially thought it was the Iris blue car that Rob Raymer had about 5-6 years back, alas it is not... it certainly is an attractive asking price.

What's he not giving up,did you call him?

Speak with his mechanic.

Are there good Porsche mechanics down South West (backdrop of pics look like they are not far from Caves rd / off Caves road  or do you need to do a 500km round trip up to Perth to get to  specialist mechanic.

That’s a lovely car, almost bought it myself back then! Nice to know it’s still around and in the PFA fold..

Is it a ‘comfort’ with some clubsport goodies??

Yup, appears to be a non 003 GT3 with the cage added... dead give away is lack of cs M code and those Recaros in leather, as far as I know the Clubsport only ever offered those seats in Nomex/Perlon

Can’t see 003 on under bonnet sticker & airbags in door cards. CS is no airbags in door cards.

Suppose you could option, but that would be on the sticker under bonnet and in owners manual

Anyone know how many 996 MK1 club sports vs touring were delivered in Australia?
