What did you do to your Porsche today ???

So after my tape up event, I decided I liked the look of the black headlight surrounds, yet it was time to do it properly and paint them today. As I undid the screw, the cover popped off to reveal black trims as per the door and window frames. Bonus!

I didn't realise these were just a cover,  as I think you  an see all the adjustment screws on the earlier cars.

Saves me having to call Chris (9er) to help reassemble my headlights again I spose ;-)

Re your SSI's that arrived can i ask where you got them from? I'm looking for a set for an SC

Also the muffler?

SSI's came from 911design in the UK, appeared to be none available in Australia when I phoned around. Ordered them on a Sunday night and it was at my door on the following Friday.

The muffler was direct from M&K, took about a week to get to Sydney and 3 days to get Brisbane. There are other options for mufflers that should be available locally but the M&K was my personal choice and so far I'm very happy with it.

The LH SSI required a bit of work to clear the clutch spring and the cam chain case, not much but you have to  try it up quite a few times to get it right.

The cross over oil pipe needed a bit adjustment to to ensure it was not touching the RH SSI,engine oil cooler and case. Again nothing major, just time consuming and uncomfortable as you're working overhead and on your back.

Pretty much most of what I read about fitting them was true, although I had no exhaust stud issues.

Posted it in the random funnies thread.

Where did you get that Venetian blind?  I want one...

gents if anyone wants a porsche Venetian for the rear window, I have acquired over the years a few. Most are NOS. Most are black I think one off White. Black is the better as they are not as noticeable.

give us a call my number is on the 944 turbo for sale thread.

Another boring post but ...After last weekend's little drive down to Port Albert, I finally got to give the croc an AutoGlym day.:D ( I love that stuff)

Three hours later, it's looking like a new one again, then straight back into the garage with its blanket on, eagerly awaiting the next big adventure.B)

And my therapy for the week is done.

Niko, you inspired me to go to Autobarn yesterday to use a 25% off voucher I had and buy a heap of Autoglym products (never use them before) and snow foam and lance (Bowdens).

I "tested" them out on the wife's Cayenne in case they weren't as good as you say or I stuffed up their use.. didn't want to use straight on the 930, better to make a mess of her car . It all worked very well, so today I did the snow, wash, clay, polish, wheels, tyres, wax on the 930.. I am very happy with the results, you should ask them for a commission as I am now a convert.

Good on you Scott, WOW, your 930 looks sensational.   Looks like a lot of elbow grease as well as the AutoGlyam has been applied there.

Glad I have converted you.   I find all their stuff to be reasonably priced and do exactly what they are supposed to do.

Bet you just had to take it for a drive once you'd finished.:D

Good luck with your projects there, It looks like it's coming along well though.

The old kombi looks as though it might need some love and attention too.

kombi is a 59 15 window deluxe that's seen better days. for those in the know its a one year high hinge model so pretty rare. collecting the parts to restore it. will be done next year hopefully. also have one of these that's coming close to the end of the resto

maybe shouldn't have posted that as its Porsche only

Ha ha, leading the sheltered life that I do, I have no idea what your reffering to:ph34r:

Things and names have all new meanings....

TWINK, common name back in the 70's for a twin cam escort.    Phew....I hope that clears that up....B)
