Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Recommended Posts

raises the question... what's the highest mileage boxster out there... 225000 k's has got to be up there

I've even plenty with 250+ and early this year while looking I saw a nice silver/red one with 348!

Meanwhile folks are worried about the IMS....

What do you spend on a aircooled car over 200-400 thousand kilometers???

For the price of a bit of basic aircooled engine work from a specialist you can buy a whole other Boxrod!

Did someone say "BoxRod" just did 6 laps at Sand Down as a passenger with Trev.  Pretty bloody impressive car and steering I must say. When an Audi R8 can't shake you in the corners, in fact we closed the gap they made on the straights. Trev is onto something here, with minimal mods set of decent rubber and KW suspension, that BoxRod has to be the best bang for buck car I have ever experienced, defiantly merit in @TrevMcRev thinking and yes I was just looking at Boxster's.

UK car. Speedo is in mph.

That won't stop it from embarrassing cars 5-10x the price though...

You've just gotta learn not to feel embarrassed yourself driving one!

It's so easy to let ego drive you towards buying cars to seek others approval... If you can accept you'll never be Instagram-famous with a Boxster, they are great. So is an extra $100k up your sleeve.

I used to surprise a lot of clients when I said that the 987 (2.7 pov spec) was my favourite car over our 997S & 996C4S.  Something I still maintain & look forward to getting another at some point.  I didn't ever get to track it but it was a lot more engaging on our local roads (where absolute hp is less of an issue) than the 911's.  Some of our clients were reluctant to drive it due to image....however any clients who'd ever had a go in a Boxster were keen to give it a go & knew they were a good thing...too many sheep out there.

Hmmm - I must admit that I am about 50% in that category.

Except when pushed to the limit - I was underwhelmed by performance & handling too.

However the good thing is that a lot of 987s are now appearing in my car club and those member's wives are coming to outings, I guess this is a good thing.

It's all relative but this is an entry point that could still be unattainable for the kiddies.....  https://www.target.com.au/p/lego-reg-technic-porsche-911-gt3-rs-42-56/59723264 20% off for a few days = $90 saving or weeks of pocket money!

I was going to buy one of these, but that is huge money!!!  Instead, put your money into the 1/4 scale Boxer motor from the P Museum (included in the Xmas shopping handout sent out by Porsche Aust a few days ago).  $315 or so.  I brought one back from the Museum last month, took about 4 1/2 hrs to put together, looks and works great!!!  (Sorry, haven't worked out this photo / video upload bizzo since Photobucket went commercial.....)

Don't often seen vehicles of this age for sale at PCM: 1980 SC Manual (Targa) _ $120,900

They could have at least put a Porsche classic radio in place of that ugly aftermarket one... Also the last pic is a silver 993??
