Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Ps. Whats the going rate for a kidney? And any other body parts one can do without and still drive?

Sure! You can remove a large portion of the liver and it will regenerate. You can donate both corneas and with plastic inserts , still drive. You can donate a brain and still get away with driving through most CBDs and shopping centres. Well that's my reverse observation.

You beauty!  Looks like a kidney will easily cover it and leave me plus some change.

It looks straight forward enough too.. https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/003001.htm

They may need to update the section on "why the procedure is performed" to include funding GT3s!

Just catching up , Trev ..im guessing with that shifter , you wont need a left leg either, you can hobble , and it will clutch for ya.. is that how this semi sequential thing works

A thing of beauty that car.. the starter for a WC outlaw

like it but he seems to be under the illusion that he can charge a premium because he spent money to modify it.  In reality every $1 spent seems to take $2 OFF the value (caveat - no data research was done to come to this conclusion). With other 997 GT3s from $215-230k, I reckon he will struggle to crack $200k.  A bit hard core for most reduces the market significantly.  Buyers who would be up for this could buy a cup car for much less - what premium do you pay for road reg.  PS Trev, you 12 month licence holiday must be fading into history.........?

But it does come with all the factory parts.. so I think it may stay in the 200k bracket. I think the minute you drove that to car and coffee it would get stickered. It doesn't mention anywhere in the advert that it comes with engineering certs. I might go kick its tyres if anyone wants me too.

Has anyone done this in Oz or are the lights NA in Oz spec?

http://www.wickedmotorworks.com/partdetails.php?partid=10098

They used that kit or a very similar kit on a gas monkey garage ep when they did a 996 to 997 front end conversion along with replacing the M96 with an LS crate motor.

Donor car was a mk1 with milkshake (coolant + oil mix).

They also mentioned that it was a pig and nothing fit like it should...

Just buy a 997, simple.

This all looks like a waste of time & money.

  Yyyyep!

By the time you buy all the bits, have them fitted/customised/painted, you'd be looking at 20 grand or more I'd say

As for Gas Monkey garage. Look what they did to an F40! That moron needs a smack

The kit is definitely not cheap! Not sure why you'd want a Frankenstein 996/7. I'm also not a fan of the headlight lense covers that makes the 996 lights look like single 997 ones.

Back to GMG, I'm not all that into car customisation but that show is entertaining to me!

ah but does it come with original matching numbers seat bolts?  if not, it can never be deemed original by the Porsche officianado

and it's a car that's built for the track that's been used on track........damn, it's probably been taken out to 8000 a few times in the process.  and its red under the wrap..........oh dear, not white or black or silver

Buyer beware.  ?

Wouldn't it be easy to road register if your a Westie.  I just completed some WA  notification of change of ownership forms this week, skimmed the fine print, but with a bit of rego left, didn't appear the car needed to go over the pits or did I do a piss poor job on the fine print.

Do you reckon it would be that hard to have my Mrs putter down to the Vicroads office (she is good with handling a single mass flywheel clutch if motivated), with a RWC (what would the major issues be, besides removing the valentine radar dectector (assuming one is somewhere), what parts need swapping back to factory), transfer form, credit car and screwdriver to unscrew the WA plates to hand them in  and get a replacement set of Vic plates to screw back on.

On the topic of premiums and Trev and fading into history, my mate got dinged for being  a handful of months from his 5 year anniversary of a bit too much pressure from his right foot and had a 12 months holiday.  That is costing him about a  60% loading on an insurance premium or 10% of a circa 20k hoon mobile.  What would be Trev's premium be on that 997GT3 hoon mobile be if you were into full disclosure and within a couple of months of the shackles having been just released.
