TrevMcRev Posted 10March, 2018 Report Share Posted 10March, 2018 With a few more people showing interest in joining the Boxrod Bandits, a growing movement that is said to be the new "outlaw" (which is so 2016), I thought time for a thread to post up your finds in. One thing you wont find in here... 57,247 posts about speculation of future values and investment potential. All things considered I definately wouldn't pay any more, hope it works out ok for the happy owner and he joins us Boxrod crew! Nick-PBTB Posted 13March, 2018 Report Share Posted 13March, 2018 Thought I'd throw a post in here because why not. Bought my 97 986 2.5 tiptronic mid last year for only $5000 Needed quite a few things such as water pump, new canvas top, reupholstered drivers seat, rear shocks and a bunch of general service stuff. Into it $11000 and its running beautiful with the last 2000km no dramas. Its no perfect car but she drives beautifully I couldn't praise the 986 more, an extremely under rated car. JWM Posted 13March, 2018 Report Share Posted 13March, 2018 I walked out of the office last night and saw a silver 986 parked on the street and it really struck me. They’re really “small” these days compared to everything else on the road which makes it stand out in a way and really have a nice shape, something speedsterish I’d not noticed before. Sold myself on finding one on the spot, funny to then stumble onto this thread... ? TrevMcRev

I cringe saying this...but to me, that one is not ....period correct! It belongs in an old aircooled car. Ugghhhhhh! Did I say that out loud? What am i talking about! Boxrods should be about doing what ever you want.... I went with a Momo Mod 07, which given the interior is pretty much same as 996 GT3, and it being the basis of the Porsche Motorsport wheel for the GT3, then I say it works. 2 hours ago, Troubleshooter said: Been up a couple of hours ....If it's not on the WOVR or resprayed or re engined etc etc anything wrong with it (or a scam) and his description is accurate, this one is as cheap as it gets for a perfect example. DJM Posted 13March, 2018 Report Share Posted 13March, 2018 Bargain, despite not being in the market, I'm tempted to offer $10k sight unseen and then decide what to do with it. What else can you buy for $10k that's immaculate 90,000km and right colour combo. Throw some suspension, wheels (17" Speedline look? https://goo.gl/images/oEtPtGto imitate the original concept https://goo.gl/images/7SFQgB) and a Trev Momo steering wheel at it and it'd be cheap fun. Somebody buy it before I do! Probably not much more than my next service on the GT4! firstone, Troubleshooter, symsy and 2 others
