On the contrary, I'm glad to see people out and about with groups of friends driving. Not that I could have made it anyhow with work. But more pics of adventures will always appreciated.🙂 Though I have missed Arnie's SMTs over the big wet recently, hopefully as the weather improves things will change. I wish I had more local road knowledge and the confidence to organise one. Any SMT to organize is much more than saying" Lets drive". You got to consider the general route, check out backroads on conditions , make sure no events or road closures are happening on the day.. Check weather, come up with a timeline, consider breaks and food, etc. It takes time and a bit of effort. Maybe on each run the participants have a draw and the winner will organize the next run. Can be short , long , cake and coffee , slow or fast. Doesn't matter, it will be fun. As far as confidence is concerned, I have sent GT cars on gravel , dragged clean cars through the mud ( ask Niko ) , arrived at dead ends , got lost , etc , etc. Main thing is the experience and connection of like minded people , enjoying the cars , company and chats. If you know of this special marvel of a lookout or winery , glorious back road , that little country car museum , these awesome caves somewhere , the run is almost good to go. Anyway just a thought.👍 Grimmy, Joz and Niko

At present I have been less inclined to drive the Sports car and more inclined to drive the 4WD! As route planning would also require a "working bee" the week before on just about any road in/out or around Melbourne and country Vic. mhh Posted 21November, 2022 Report Share Posted 21November, 2022 Driving home on Tuesday from Geelong to Adelaide, I passed 7 police cars/bikes. In 3 days and 1,500km in Tassie and we saw one bike cop. I'll take Tassie any day. Joz

Wouldn't surprise me if this was overlooked. We've had a heap of Fire vehicles taken off the road because they were overweight...... What would be the GCM of one of those Datsun SUVs, not much I would think.... Notice the periscope, to take video of anyone looking to do a nasty to the trailer 🙂 Yeatesy
sleazius Posted 21November, 2022 Report Share Posted 21November, 2022 Last article I read about it said that 14% of license holders in NSW were currently suspended. I think we've gone way too far if that is the case. The states need to find other sources of revenue.
TwoHeadsTas Posted 27November, 2022 Report Share Posted 27November, 2022 Another northern Tassie GT group run this morning, time spent in 996 GT3RS and 996.2 GT3 passenger seats for a run from Westbury up to Great Lakes and back. Niko Posted 4December, 2022 Report Share Posted 4December, 2022 BLACK PORKERS MATTER.......Another gorgeous Victorian Day....two in a row, it can't last. Joined up with Chris and David this morning in their Big Banger GT's and headed down Peninsula Link and into Mornington. Had an early morning coffee, along with a great chat assisting in solving all the world's current problems, and there seems to be a lot lately. Drove back via Nepean Highway. Niko Posted 11December, 2022 Report Share Posted 11December, 2022 So Porches by the Bay, once again this morning. Go back to the day before, and a couple of hours spent tarting up the BBC. Up early this morning and headed to Elwood for what should be a great morning. On the way there, a rainbow in the distance....then little drops on the windscreen, then down it came. Bugger always the way. Never mind. Arrived at 6.30 a tad early and pulled up next to Kelvin in his 987.1, we were the first ones there and had a thought we might have been in the wrong place. But sure enough a few minutes later the distinct noise of flat 6's rolling in. Had a fantastic turn up of Porkers. Caught up with a lot of friends, which included two heads Tassy, who was over here for the Billy Joel concert but squeezed in PBTB. I was only introduced to him as Peter and unfortunately didn't realise it was THT till later in the morning. Anyway, great meeting you Peter. Pulled the pin around 9 and a group of us headed to the Naked Racer for brekky and great conversation. Have to say, we have a really good group of people amongst us. Anyway enough bullshit, here are a few photos to get the drooling happening. Thanks for organising and to everyone attending...Look forward to 2023 and doing it all again. PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD, once again went to the BBC of course, not that there was any doubt, competition was pretty ordinary as you can see. tomk86, Dalai, SteveF and 5 others 5
