Whats for sale (in Australia ) and interesting Thread

Hard to tell Symsy. On the other side is it a price correction to an extent? Have they been cheap for too long?

I’m going to list my car in a few months to scratch my build a AC Cobra from umm well scratch itch, so I can ask 150k right??

I guess it all comes down to how you feel when that garage door goes up and the smiles it brings.. For me having now owned quite a few cars , I guess I have a limit. I ven have a limit on what I own now 993TT 300k - many reasons to have one but not at that price.  They just aint that spesh..  the same can be said of many of the AC cars.

I like the chase, sometimes the build, definately the drive and really on the most basic level not to lose money..

making money .. well thats nice but really if I can buy and sell in the same market without a stretch and change into what I whilst geting my caring ownership valued it all seems ok .

I reckon there is a whole book of counselling and philopshy on the buying and selling cars out there ..waiting to be written.

Having been out driving the MK1 Escort most of the weekend , consuming as much fuel as the 993TT with the webers always roaring, I reckon its got that same petrol head  healing qualities… with your build background I can only imagine a monster of mass consumption and extreme tarmac terrorism qualities to emerge :)

I’ll still own a Porsche, it will just have water in it that’s all. Well, I say that now but if I achieve my 2:1 power to weight ratio I’ll prolly struggle to part with it.

In the last 61 cars I’ve owned I’ve lost money on 2 but I knew that going in so maybe I should write that book!

LOL I just had a quick think about it. The damn book is only about 25 pages long. I’ve spent too long making it a conserve and not a soup!

Anyone know a good ghost writer?

agree
would love a different AC car.. but i won't part with either AC car and prices have made me lose interest in acquiring another one.

bought a mint bmw 2002 for 12k a while ago to test the waters. have now acquired three shells and a shed full of parts for 8k (including alpina driveline) to build the one i really want. will be as fast, and as fun as most aircooled stuff but less than half the price by the time i finish..

If i had to get back into aircooled stuff i'd see myself doing it to build a 910 rep.

Good flip. Car came out of NT 12 months ago for ... well let's say a lot less than asking.

It's got to be sold first for it to be a good flip .....

I can see it sitting for quite a while at that price .... it's too pricey! ...... LHD, non matching numbers and a targa ...

Now, if it had been owned by Steve McQueen, that would be different!

Non matching numbers?

In the ad, he claims "it's been rebuilt - hence non matching numbers?"

I just think the owner doesn't know B)

2002 with webbers growl too ;) and sniff porsche bottoms quite easily on twisty roads.

I think maybe we should have PFA back of the garage hillclimb event , or failing that  PFA bottom of the cupboard binge drinking session :)

valid point and I missed the non matching numbers which I didn't recall that from the original ad which will definitely affect the price.
