Blue964 Posted 21October, 2015 Report Share Posted 21October, 2015 (edited) ^^^if it wasn't for the self destructing engine, what would be a realistic asking price for this bad arse GT3...$320k?ha, right.Only 12 months ago it was normal for a car to sit for 2 or 3 months before finding a buyer. Apparently this type of car is now a dog.nothing but utter crap for sale this days...like a 1 owner 997 GT3 with rebuilt motor and 10k on the clock--who on earth would entertain putting such a crappy car in their garage Edited 21October, 2015 by Blue964

I jumped in the car on Monday (its been maybe 6 or so weeks since last drive).. my fat ass barely fits those recaros now... I think I should drive it daily as a reminder to myself. Travelling is good for one thing, putting on the KG's. Maybe you & I need a 3.8 just to haul the extra weight around.. 3.6 will not cut it.^^^if it wasn't for the self destructing engine, what would be a realistic asking price for this bad arse GT3...$320k?Considering last RS 3.8's were selling at High 200's - Low 300's AND 7.1's were at mid 100's + then 7.2's were selling low to mid 200's before. I'm somewhat lost.... symsy
ANF Posted 21October, 2015 Report Share Posted 21October, 2015 I would have thought that any car with a documented and verifiable new engine would be worth more than one with a used one (no matter how well looked after)? In an older car that has a new/ rebuilt engine this is seen as a good point.....Confusing....! edgy Posted 21October, 2015 Report Share Posted 21October, 2015 I think its the nature of the failure... rebuilt due to pulled head studs sounds ok, rebuilt due to mechanical over rev on track day carries a few negative connotations.... on the plus it's good the seller has been transparent. symsy

GT3s are built for the track, easy to understand how an over rev could happen and cause damage. Brand new engine and selling below market, what's not to like. Everything to like about a fresh engine in a GT3, i see it as a huge positive for this car. Some people may be surprised to know how many GT3's are track damaged mechanically & body then repaired & you wouldn't even know. Sometimes a PPI wouldn't even pick up on the repairs if done correctly, trust me i've seen so many in the last 15 years... DJM

symsy Posted 21October, 2015 Report Share Posted 21October, 2015 I dig it though. Turbo Targa - love it.Yes like you need a red car ….. I didnt even know they existed , only ever saw supersports targas in the uk to my recollection ..but then again I was hoonng in them then in my twenties rather than couch surfing so much in my 40'sMaybe the more era adept specialist will chime in but I have only seen those god damn horrible super blob black overiders on later USA cars and this has normal ones.. maybe more of a euro/UK car? Peter M Posted 21October, 2015 Report Share Posted 21October, 2015 (edited) 993 actually..., it's a super rare 964/993 model. Produced every time you get your secretary to write up the ad.Probably can't blame the secretary this time as I suspect CarPoint won't accept a description with "1994" and "993" together. Pelican Parts is the same as according to them all 993's are '95 or later. A little annoying for a 993 owner with a Dec '93 build date. Be interested to see how long that white, low mileage 993 Tip lasts at $100k. Surely quicker that their $95k SC's? Mike D'Silva Posted 22October, 2015 Report Share Posted 22October, 2015 was just bought from an old guy recently for 25k or less - hadn't run and or been driven for 3 or so years. needs a proper inspection that Yard looks a lot like the yard i visited in BARGARA when I flew to look at the blue SC... that car had a non working odometer, full respray, and lots of stuff not working...If this is the same seller, I hope this car is a lot better. He might build you a trailer to tow it home!
