I can't quite decide where this sits on value.  Low km, but Targa (which I kind of like), and tip, and at HF...  Looks mint though:

Twelve to eighteen months ago you would have said way too high but in this current climate nothing seems to be of no suprise in regards to pricing. Certainly does appear to be a nice example of a Targa 996 going on the pictures.

I love this. I think I’ll try and go and see it, but I’m pretty sure it will get snapped up pretty quickly

Hey Dreams, how many of those 10 guys are still searching?  I’d be all over this like an embarrassing skin condition.

Tip and leaky Targa, even with low k's, I think he is dreaming, but in this market maybe someone is desperate enough to throw that much at it, but definitely not where my $70k would go.

996 Coupe with a leaky sunroof here... :(

I wonder how many other people will experience:

=> found the sunroof cassette cracked around the drain point

I had a full garage and my 996 and Macan were both out in the recent crazy rain. 996 is bone dry, and the Macan could house goldfish in the foot wells :(

I’m sure you’re all over this Jeff, but for anyone else who’s had there 996 out in the heavy rain, pays to check the scuttle either side of the battery. The drains get blocked with debris and the scuttle can fill up with water, potentially rusting out the brake booster and if you’re really unlucky you can unwittingly hydro lock the engine.

Gotta ask... How do you hydrolock the engine from water in the scuttle?

If the water level is high enough in the scuttle it can seep into the back of the brake booster through the bellows. Apparently if enough water gets into the booster and the car is started with a booster full of water the vacuum line can suck the water into the engine and hydrolock the engine.

i think Porsche might’ve revised the below design for later model years, not sure if this resolved the issue.

i just check/clean out the drains in the scuttle every few services, surprising how much debris gets in there even with the car garaged.

Good to know!  I do clean the drains regularly...

I'll want to do mine also.  I'll google drain locations.  I used to push some whipper snipper cord through the 944's drains.  Same process on the 911?

I've just bee using a car vacuum, but running the cord down there could be a good idea.  You'll see the drains up on the scuttle in front of the windscreen - take off the battery cover.
